Hi, first i'd like to introduce myself as a new member and look forward to future debating with you all in the future.

I joined a club (childwall in Liverpool) may 2013 and play off 13. currently play with Ping g15 irons but replaced PW and SW with cg15 Cleveland wedges. Also have both gap wedge and lob wedge Cleveland cg15's.

On wednesday going to be fitted for mizuno irons at AG in Trafford Centre. Really fancy MP59's or MP53's. I really like the look of the MP59's but wonder if with my handicap they would be suited to me. I find the ping g15's too chunky and hit cleaner and more accurate shots with wedges which are much more blade like. I don't want blades as such which is why i've not mentioned MP69's. i wonder is anybody else in this position or has been in this position and did they change over in this way.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers

Why limit your options to just the Mizunos? There are some great sets out there that might just blow you away if you give them a chance. Go with an open mind, and the illusion of an open wallet, and try as many combos as you can..

Oh, and don't discount the 64's if you are stuck on the Mizzys. In my humble opinion, the best clubs Mizuno have produced for nearly 10 years..

Oh, and don't worry about the handicap/blade correlation. Just try the clubs that you like the look of and see how they fly...(Try the Cobra Amp Cell Pro Irons...You might love em...)

as bluewolf says dont discount other brands. also you may be suprised at the fitting that the mizunos that you want dont perform for you. and it may be a different model that the figures suggest suits you. welcome to the forum

Worth trying the JPX 825 Pro, you get a pretty well packaged iron with the forgiveness of your G15s.

Oh and welcome!

I have the Ping G25 and the Mizuno JPX 825 Pro and play off 21

The JPX irons are beautiful clubs yet I prefer the Ping G25 as they work so well at present

The accuracy of the G25 irons is incredible, the only wedge I added was the ping G25 Gap and a cheap MD Golf 58 deg wedge

I considered selling the JPX825 Pros but didn't have any sensible offers so kept them for now

Both are regular shafts but you must try them maybe the I20 as well

hello and welcome enjoy the fun, plenty of games up for grabs in your neck of the woods too if you fancy some days out.

like others have said go with an open mind and see what you like best in all areas, rather than having preconceived limits, enjoy a great facility at Trafford Centre.

Welcome along. Does the AG have a range or is it purely hitting in a bay and relying on the monitor. My advice, based solely on personal experience, would be not to use AG. That aside, I would try out a lot of brands and reckon the Cally X-Hot Pro, I20, G25 and TM Rocketbladez Tour all need a hit to at least eliminate them off the possible list

Full on two tier range with flight scope the AG is almost an add on to the range, all bays have individual lasered distance sheets.

Chap I played with last weekend had a set of John Letters irons. Lovely clubs, not sure of the model but similar club head size to the MP 59's/ Ping i20's. He plays off 6 and changes his clubs regularily, but reckons these are keepers.

Just checked Master Model with nippon shafts.

Welcome Noel.

Did you join Childwall as a 6 or a 7 day member? I enquired the other year, but it was approx 18 months to go up to a 7 day member, and they still wanted a massive joining fee, so stayed where I was.

I'd say don't get set on one manufacturer, and have an open mind, personally. I loved the look of a set of Ping and Callaway but went with Taylor made when I got fitted, as they were more consistent.
