Hi lads, just new to the forum and thought id say hello. Returning to golf after an absence of about 3-4 years. Decided to join a club to get playing again and, as a treat to myself, thought id get a new driver. Been looking at the Callaway HyperX - Any good?

Welcome Olé, Check out the gear vault on the GM web site as Jezz tested the Hyper a few weeks ago and liked it. I am not too keen on Callaway product as they will bring out a new one next year and your £180 driver will be a bit of tin.

Sounds good! Was in my local AG today and had a shot of the Callaway and the Mizuno MX-560. Liked them both and im going for another look/try tomorrow....cant promise I wont buy on impulse

Don't do it mate. Test 'em by all means but golf and impulse tend to have a discordant relationship when it comes to buying gear.

Use them on the range mate and take your time. Dont just whack em in the nets. ( see custom fiiting threads for an indepth glimpse to the true nature of this madhouse and erm... o yeah what you might benefit from)

Have to concur. The only way to judge how well you hit them is to use a range and watch the flight of the ball, shape of shot and how far you hit it
