Hi all

Our new website is due to launch at 2.30pm today (in fact you may be reading this after it's gone live)!

We hope you'll enjoy the new look, features and easier navigation - as ever feedback be it positive or negative is very much encouraged. The good thing is the GM team now has more ability to make changes to the design so we can consider sensible requests/suggestions going forward!

I know a reasonably high number of folk on the forum have the forum as their bookmark and don’t tend to stray much from here much but I'd encourage you to have a stroll around - the guys produce a high volume of quality golf content from news to reviews.

One major thing is the design will auto format depending on what device you are using and orientation you are viewing the site

I'm hoping there won’t be any issues as we have been testing for a week but if you do spot any gremlins or glitches please do report them

In terms of the forum side of things its pretty much business as usual although the carousel of stories at the top of the page is temporarily gone but we are looking to have quick links to key content on the forum home page.

Looking ahead we are still hoping to move to a mobile optimised forum in the summer

Thanks
Mike

My first impression was that of a rabbit in headlights id say , alot going on ,

I went back in again this time knowing what to expect and yeah its impressive , still alot going on , but even still its not cluttered or jammed in , its bright , its colourful .. yeah , impressed

Good Job

Looks good

Looking forward to the forum getting a facelift

Looks great, quite similar to the new look PGA site. One niggle though, I've been going through the Master preview (very good) and on the individual hole-by-hole guide there's no links to the previous/next hole - you have to go back to the previous page and then scroll down to then find the link to the next hole. Picky I know.

Apart from that, looks great!

hate to be the dissenting voice especially as I rate GM so highly, and have done since a boy! it's because of that I mention my thoughts, any other mag website I probably wouldnt bother as they are not the #1 Golf Magazine in the country.

GM is the #1 and apart from the new website being bigger and certainly a 'lot more' going on it has something missing. I don't feel it flows logically or smoothly, the navigation bar at the top is technically very basic and slow and the drop downs are so large they look quite child like.

Sorry GM, I'll stop there as the rest will come across as negative and it's the last thing I want to portray about GM as I rate everything you do, I don't feel this website reflects the quality image of the team or magazine. sorry.

Hmm, once I selected a topic from the tabs at the top of the forum page, I had a look around in the 'Tips', 'Gear' and a couple of others which were all OK, but then I couldn't find myself back to the 'Forum'! I had to come out completely and then go into my bookmark again?

Did you not use the tab at the top of the page mate ?

The tabs at the top when your in Gear, Tips, Videos, Tours, News & Win I then found a forum link by going in that tab with 3 horizontal lines, I didn't look in their before as it was 'after' the search tab and I didn't think it was anything! however, if you select that house (no doubt for home I thought), the forum link disappears from that 3 lined tab?

I've found it in a roundabout way now but it wasn't straight forward

The Forum tab has a fixed location in the main navigation alongside the tips, gear etc drop downs. I think this may move into the 'Other" menu (the 3 horizontal lines) on narrower screens, but little bugs like these will be worked out over the next week or so. It'll always be there somewhere, but if in doubt go back to the homepage with the house icon and go from there.

So basically you don't like it but have put a lot of qualifying statements in there in order not to scupper your chances of winning any free stuff at a later date? ;)

nope, I will never be chosen as I already have and infractions count you out also:mmm:

My comments are honest and genuine, not everyone is just out for free stuff:rolleyes:

Hey, I mostly agree with you. As I am never a fan of are web sites in which you have to scroll down to get to what you want. And on the home page I had, without scrolling, the most prominent images were of a Volvo and a Minion (bottom, hee hee) . And much as I bow to no one in my love of Despicable Me 2, it didn't look right.

To me it's far too 'busy' and it's a bit information overload. But then again I think the best web site is google's search page. And other opinions are available.

And I have got my name in for a current opportunity which I have probably just blown ;)
