I've had lessons from the pro at both the clubs where I've been a member And while I get on really well with the pro's I never really taken much away from the lessons .
So when the sister in-law got me a lesson package for Xmas i asked for them from the pro at the driving range.
well after 3 practice swings while he set up the computer he changed my grip and swing plane which seem to work a treat hope toget in the course tomorrow so I can see if it works properly.

I came away thinking how come the pro's who knew me couldn't sort my problems but a stranger could or am I just imagining it that they knew I would buy new clubs to try and sort the problem

Had a similar thing. Had been using a guy for a few years and felt after the last two lessons I wasn't getting anywhere and stagnating. Went to a guy at a local range based on word of mouth. Changed me to a one plane swing and I've been hitting great since December. Its not perfect but far more consistency after one 30 minute lesson than I'd got in the last 2 x 1 hours with the other guy. HID has got me 6 x 30 minutes with the new guy so really hoping it'll be a catalyst towards 11, 10 or (whisper it) 9

Good stuff Mike , i think its better to see a Pro who knows nothing about you or your game, i did and i'm hitting it alot better.
Still thought you were the most accurate player i've played with, remember Dundonald ,how far is that greenkeepers buggy ,about 200 yards ,bang right on it,haha.

keep it up mate

Aye see that's the problem as the bloody greenskeepers refuse to park the buggies ON the greens

good to hear.

I am changing instructor next month to a S&T expert. Bit of a trek and a bit expensive but got to be better than just blasting balls at the range aimlessly :)

What's making you head for a s & t pro ? And how far are you going ?
Im having to go about 40 miles round trip but really there is only 1 other range nearer

its only about 20 miles. I am going s&t as having had right shoulder surgery and a bone graft from my right hip I havent got great movement on the right side, plus being a lefty playing righty I feel its possibly going to be better suited to me in a physical sense.

worth a try at this early stage of playing golf
