I was lucky enough to win a set of the Crossline Ace 3Gen's and having played 3 rounds with them in different conditions, if I could only use one word to describe them, that word would be "tacky" - and in a good way!

Looks: The dark grey is different without being flashy or garish, and the red cap is a nice touch too. 9 out of 10, and the only reason they don't get more is because the red marks up easily from rubbing at the bottom of the golf bag.

Performance: In the dry, these things are awesome. Lovely and soft, and wonderfully tacky but without ruining the glove. I have every confidence that there will be no unwanted movement with them. Softer than the standard Crossline, which I have on my wedges; the new grips are better. However, in the wet, they aren't as good as the old standard golf prides or the original Crosslines, which is a shame. They lose a bit of their grip, and I lost control of the driver on two occasions. 8 out of 10.

Durability: Can't really comment on this, as they're new. However, the red cap is going to be something I think will wear quickly and noticeably. To be reviewed in a month.

Value: A quick google search suggests an average price of around £4.85 (remember I got them for free), which I think is good value for this grip. 8 out of 10.

Overall: Initial view of these grips is that they're keepers, despite the issues in the wet (although I wasn't using a rain glove for the "slip holes"; maybe I need to invest in MacWets). Nicer feel than both standard Golf Prides, and original Crosslines. If I'd paid out for them, I'd be happy.

How are these grips faring six months on fella? I'm thinking of putting these on my irons this winter, like the style and at a reasonable price. Still recommend?

Looks: Just can't add anything else. It's odd now looking at the standard black Lamkin crosslines on my two wedges. They haven't really dirtied despite a lot of use, apart from the red cap! 9 out of 10

Performance: No problems at all with grips in the dry. In the wet, I'm still not convinced, but as I don't use a glove from 8 iron to LW, maybe I need to change the grips on those to the perma-wraps? It could be (and probably is) me rather than the grips themselves! Down to 8 out of 10, but as I said, maybe it's me.

Durability: I really can't add anything from 1 month's review. They've lost none of their feel or tackiness. 10 out of 10.

Value: The grips that just keep on giving! Really, really good.

They are still really good. Very hard-wearing. I may be tempted to get the grippier wrap version on my short irons and wedges next year, but overall, they are superb!

I agree, haven't seen anything deteriorate at all, and wondering just how long they are gonna last. At this rate I'm gonna get bored with them before they wear out !

I'm interested in this at the minute as I plan on regripping my whole bag, apart from putter, at the start og next year.

I've used Lamkin 3Gen material grips before and found them pretty soild. I also liked the feel of the Crosslines, but not the look.

These could be a winner

Just bought one for my new driver, will be going on ahead of the weekend and like you may be putting it throughout the bag if I like it.

I already have a liking for Lamkin grips.

Golf Pride grips are mince IMHO. The stock grips on my Mizuno are made by Golf Pride (M21) and they have barely lasted since I picked them up in March.

New decade multi compounds are better, but still not my cup of tea.

Every Lamkin grip I've ever tried, be it the Crossline or 3Gen performance plus, I've always loved how they feel.

These 3Gen Crosslines are a serious contender ATM

i have a performance plus on my Christmas list, these are going on my woods. Now that I have re gripped some clubs I am going to try a few grips and maybe try running a thicker grip on my wedges.
