hi fellow golfers. i have my new irons ready to go, (second hand set of nike vr split cavity irons).
i have saw a few sites saying that these are for the lower handicap player which i am not! I am a beginner, i didnt want to go the route of game improvement irons so i opted for the vr`s which i love the look of! i am looking forward to hitting these in the next couple of days, does anyone think i will problems hitting these "better player" irons??

You'll find out soon enough! Get out there and have fun playing.

I think the sensible answer would be that your bad shots wouldn't be as bad with a game improvement iron. However, the nikes aren't the most unforgiving irons so you might get on just fine. Hope you got them for a good price.

If you like the look of them you're starting off on the right foot. That alone will give you more confidence.

Start of last season I was off 18 (18.3) and started using Mizuno MP32 cut muscle irons.

Finished the season on 15.7.

Go out and enjoy them.

Regardless of what is advised its the person holding the grip that does most of the work there is no reason why a beginner or a scratch player can't use any set of clubs, it's what works for the individual that matters.
So just go play and Enjoy the new shineys. :)

What you look down at counts for a lot, if you like the look of your clubs it will help you massively, if I look at a Nike ball I am likely to duff it !!

Go forth and enjoy

just a quick update about the new clubs. played nine holes today and shot 9 over. I did not have any problems using these clubs and i am looking forward to using these in future. Early days but i am happy with them :D
