hi all

i am currently looking to buy a used set of irons for no more than £150 , im off 21 and am currently using a set of cheap dunlop irons and i think i need new irons to get my handicap down a fair bit.

can anyone reccomend any decent old irons for my budget ?
i was thinking maybe callaway x-14s , ping g5s etc. along those sort of lines.

any help will be appreciated :)

Ping Eye 3, quality set for that sort of price, cant imagine G5 being that low yet.

Do the online fitting and you can look for a set close to your set up!

Those clubs are perfectly acceptable suggestions and would do a job. I guess the best places to find something withing your price bracket would be flea-bay or golfbidder etc and therein lies the problem. I wouldn't dream of buying a club that I hadn't hit and seen. Whilst the makes you mentioned will all do a job how do you know which is right in terms of shaft etc. and how do you know which is the best for your game without hitting them first

which, though I hate to say it, argues that a set of ugly Pings would be best as you can (I think) get them retro-fitted, by Ping, even if secondhand

Callaway x12s imo are one of the best Cally irons made i had a set a few years ago.As mentioned the i3's are good too.

As other options there is Titleist 775cb which are very forgiving esp the long irons yet remain somewhat classic looks and can be bought for cheap.

Maybe Mizuno mx19's,TM rac os or the Cobra fp's which are a great set of irons.

I am you could pick yourself up a good set for that price i remember i sold my previous set Titleist 690mb for £95 so there is some deals to be had if you are lucky

dingle, sadly stuck in an office, but as you see, they are catching.

nice to see JD doing well, if he keeps it up I've promised myself another pair! (well he does need help with the taxman)
