I posted a couple of weeks ago about my new (used) equipment as I get more serious about golf and continue my lessons with an LPGA teaching pro here in Colorado.

Although they are old, I really do like the Tommy Armour 845's. It is probably a mental thing but the smaller clubhead compared to my old Walmart golf clubs just seems to work better. Certainly the disperson is less and I think its because I find them easier to aim. One thing I did notice with them is they work better in the rough at cutting through. I have even had some success with the 4 iron but the old school loft of 24 degrees may be something to do with that. It amazes me an old set of irons can be that good.

The Cleveland 588 wedges and Ping Zing putter are awesome for my short game though!

I just wondered if anyone else in here uses irons of that age?

I got hot on my nine hole round last night shooting 41 by far my best 9 hole score (3312 yards par of 36)

I have got to keep practicing my short game to improve though but it shows I can do it if I do it right!

If you like the 845 and you hit them well then why not? The only thing I'd say is check the state of the grips and maybe get them regripped. You'll be amazed
