Its time for some new irons! :)

So I went to my local AG and tried out the titleist ap2s, Taylor made rocketbladez and the Wilson FG tour V2. After 30 odd strikes with each on the sim my distance average was similar with all, however the dispersion was interesting.

The rocketbladez and the fog tour were very similar left and right. However the titleists was very consistent. The issues with them is that the distance variation was greater (although the average was similar in all 3).

Should I go with the straighter irons with less distance, one of the other two with the more consistent distance but higher left/right dispersion??

Hmmmmmm!

Also Titleist tend to change models every 2 years so the value stays in the clubs longer. Get them properly fitted as the distance may be a shaft issue, Titleist do fitting days using Trackman all over the country and would be the way forward over a AG fitting!

i had this very thing when i was custom fitted , Mizuno jpx 800 pro i was hitting a six iron 180 then 150 then 140 then 180 ,

when i hit the mp53 i so much more consistent 155 , 150 150 150

i choose the mp53s and have never looked back

Definitely the club with the most accuracy wins for me every time.

As Chris says, get a proper fitting done you may find with the right shaft its not such a big difference in length.

As has been said. If you're splashing the cash on new, get fitted.

Chances are with a different shaft you 'could' keep the distance and minimise your dispersion figures.
