New Irons advice?

if it feels good go with it, I was told that blades were harder to hit, avoided them and turns out that I preferred them, its just how you feel when your looking down at the club is most important and if it feels good, go with it

good luck! :D

Demo'd some Mizuno MX-200's recently & loved them but am being told that they're not for a high handicapper (25).
Am I getting above myself?

Welcome. Someone is telling you porkies.

They're not the most forgiving compared to some Callaway and Ping designs, but overall, they'd be fine for any level.

They've got to be miles better than the (old) clubs some of us on here played with to get down from a similar handicap.

I have them and i play off roughly around 27 (not official) and they are fine for me. Yeah maybe some of the super game improvement irons with huge cavitys and massive heads might be abit easier to hit but they are ugly and feel horrible in my opinion and in a year or so could be holding your game back.

Personally i'd rather have a club that made me improve my swing and ball striking than one that let me get away with nearly everything.

Should be able to get the mx200's for pretty cheap now as the jpx range has kinda replaced them and the mx300.

How much they wanting for them?

p.s. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome and the moral support guys - I'll man-up & get them (as a Chelsea fan I could do with some cheering up).
4-PW (steel - regular)in virtually new condition £200. Seems a worthwhile saving...

Totally agree.

I do wonder sometimes about the claims for game improvement clubs and people being told they aren't good enough for particular clubs. Granted, I wouldn't recommend a set of blades to a beginner but as long as there is some "forgiveness" you should be fine. I got down from about 16 to 12 with a set of blades, wooden woods, lessons and practice. It was what most of us did did back in the day.

If you like them, and hit them well, get them but it's lessons and practice that will get you a lower h/cap.
