Afternoon all, looking for any thoughts,I purchased a putter a month or two ago and my putting has improved, looking to buy new irons.Has anyone bought new irons and felt they improved straight away or the opposite regretted buying them. All replies welcomed

got to pro shop , hit loads of irons , pick 1s that are longest, straightest, most consistent done

if you are a good short iron player but struggle with the long irons look at getting a split set

Yip, bought a set of Ping G25 irons, really set my game back, moved them on quickly and went back to my Clevelands and my games returned. Bloke i sold the G25's to has taken to them no probs, horses for courses perhaps?

It took me a little while to get used to the MP63's from the MP32's.

No idea why. The fact I've had a batch of lessons not long after taking delivery of them may have something to do with it :mmm:

Going pretty well just now. That's definatley down to the lessons

Ive a custom fit tomorrow for new irons so looking forward to it!

hit my new g25's superb, (for me) distance is a bit of a problem as there about 1- 1/2 clubs longer, well I say problem..............

Hit everything in the shop them decide - I went in for anything but Titleist AP2s and guess what I walked out with? Golf has massively improved and single figure HC in in touching distance

I went from a set of £100 start set clubs to second hand forged MP-57s and my scores dropped pretty much straight away, I was shooting low 80s within weeks.

If you are moving from fairly new clubs to new clubs then I would not expect a difference unless the previous or new clubs were totally wrong for you.

This is good info. Im hoping i see a change as my irons hadnt done much until today where they helped me shoot sub 80! Clearly know their under threat! 😜

Lovely clubs AP2s, I have the previous version and as soon as I started using them I got a lot more accuracy! The Project X shafts had a lot to do with this I think.

Hoping new irons will be an advantage once I find the ones I want in the shaft that works best for me. Even though it seems to be causing consternation to sum I really want to try as many models in as many shaft specs as I can to get a definitive answer. Think Saturday will be decision time. Know in my mind what I want but if the numbers don't tally I'll go for something else

Sounds like logic to me mate, may the best set win!

For me swapping Drivers hasn't been an issue but swapping irons takes a bit of getting use to. Just go and try some out. Can't beat buying new clubs:whoo:

I changed my irons at the start of the season, I was looking for a change but also a way to slow myself down on the course. I was playing a set of burner 2.0 great clubs massively long but for me very inconsistent, due to the fact they are very easy to hit. so I went to a pro shop and tried a large selection. I chose the callaway Xhot pro's and my game has dramatically improved, this I put down to me being a little slower and more attentive to each shot. That said I couldn't brake 40 round my local 9 hole course last year (I have been playing for two years)this year I am consistently round in 34-36 shots(with one 32 par is 30) lots of range time as well but the new sticks are amazing. Always get fitted as well makes a world of difference.

hope this is what you were after.
