New House Purchase

Going through the same myself - house , not marriage.
The process is slower than I thought but can't complain too much as we are in a cheap rental and are under no pressure to move. Just wish it would be finished so I don't have to spend weekends in diy/furniture shops with the Mrs😡

We also just put in a formal offer on a house today. Being in a chain we had to wait until we got an offer on ours and hope it isn't gone.

Also have to find a new place to play golf soon.

Went swimmingly last time as it was a new purchase so once we had secured the plot we wanted and had the deposit paid we were just waiting for it to go up. Some issues along the way but dealing with a company and not via a trail of solicitors up the chain wasn't too bad (and a twitter complaint getting results). Bought the first one as first time buyers and it gave a degree of control as we had no-one to answer to and we did get jerked around a bit so the threat of pulling out persuaded the others to play the game properly. Loved both houses so guess it worked out in the end

For us the s**t stuff has started. Our buyer pulled out. At least before we had occurred any cost. 1st he pressed us in prise but we could make it work, then when we wanted to get everything moving the estate agent couldn't get hold of him anymore, not 2 days later he pulled out.

On the other hand, a property came up we like to have a look at in the town a few friends are living and we like, and where the misses has just been contacted from by a headhunter.
