Sorry to bother you all with what is probably a repetitive thread for some of you, but I'm new to Golf and about to have some lessons in the next couple of weeks.

I have borrowed a set of clubs for now and i'm looking at purchasing a set and i'm after some advice. I am a lefty so am I limited?

Researching on the internet it would appear i need some game improvement clubs? I have come across the Adams idea complete set (hybrid set) would these be any good for me? has anyone had any experience with them?. They are expensive but don't really want to buy a cheap set to replace 12 months down the line.

Any advice would be appreciated.

My suggestion would be to speak to the pro who is giving you the lessons and see what he suggests is best for you.

Welcome Bert, I have got a set of Adams clubs with three hybrids in the set and I can highly recommend them , they are easy to hit and would probably be a good set for you but as Phil said speak to the pro and he might suggest other alternatives that would better suit your swing.

Professional advice is always to be advised. I think there is a site called left handed golf if you want to scan options. By the way welcome.

Hi Bert and welcome.

I would suggest that as you are a complete beginner, buy a decent set of 2nd hand clubs rather than splashing out on new. You may or may not enjoy the game. If you buy 2nd hand you can get something decent but still be able to shift them on when you are ready to upgrade. Look at brands like Mizuno, Callaway, Adams, Cleveland, Ping and Taylormade. All these manufacturers cater for lefties.

Good luck

left handed clubs always go a bit cheaper than right so your lucky there.

personally I would just buy a 6 or 7 iron off ebay and practice with that for a few weeks then maybe get a half set or a full one but just use odd irons etc. A full set when learning causes more headaches than cures!! (I speaketh from experience but await to be shot down in flames ;) )
