New Golf Shop

I was walking through Grantham last night and was surprised to see a new high Street golf shop. Went back today to have a look and was pretty impressed. It stocks all the latest clubs, balls and shoes from mizuno, Nike, TM, Cobra and Wilson Staff. Prices were pretty reasonable as well.

It is a long time since I have seen an independent golf retailer in the high street so I hope they find a market. That said, if they do it will be to the detriment of the local pro shops. At least I now have a stockist of my favourite balls and somewhere that sells shoes that are not FJ.

Brave time to be setting up this kind of business. I remember Bracknell had a golf store just down from the station when I first moved down. Some good stock and the guy would always be up to offer a deal. It never seemed busy and had shocking parking access and perhaps not surprisingly went about a year after I moved. Struggling to think of anywhere locally that has a golf store that isn't a part of a brand. Think there was one in Camberley but that looked tiny. Never went in and not sure its still there. I hope the guy does alright. Maybe he has a background in golf (ex pro etc)

Ballsy move taking your business to the high street in this day and age, especially given he could have found a industrial unit the same size at a third of the cost!
