Thanks guys due to all of the positive comments about the Garmin s1 watch I was able to use them to persuade my wife it was a required bit of kit :)

Its fantastic I wouldn't be without it!

I had one since xmas which i won in Christmas raffle never thought of having one before now dont think i couldn't go without it nice bit of kit.

a comment on the reference to a v-easy,i remember about 40 years ago a pro used to teach using a joiners wooden rule ( about 3 foot long and hinged) to keep peoples arms in line, and on the ground to keep the feet in line and spaced properly with the v end being point of contact for the club,is this just a modern version of an old teaching method.

Well, I invented the V-Easy and I have never heard of the joiners rulers you've mentioned.

did not look the same as yours is designed for the job and looks a lot longer, but the general idea is fundamentally the same.if you look under any site for wooden rulers i think you will see what i mean.

Sorry. I meant was it used in the same fashion ie under the arms and on the ground?

i don't think it went under the arms from what i remember but it was 40+ years ago but on the ground it was inside the feet and he moved it in and out for different shots and stance, the brass hinge was the contact point were he placed a ball, sorry i cant remember his name but i was only 13 so memory a bit vague but i remember he was an american doing various classes around the country,i saw him at hillside.

Well he didn't patent it whatever it was as it didn't show up on my patent search.
But then if it didn't fit under the arms and it went in between the feet, its not the same as mine.

i said it did the same fundamental thing same as a bamboo cane does the same as a tour stick,i didn't mean to cause offence it was just an observation.
