thought I would say hello
Member at Batchworth Park golf course in Rickmansworth and play of 15
any other batchworth members (or indeed crown golf member here)

Welcome to the forum! Just been doing some research on Crown Golf, it a good idea and I would be very tempted if I hadn’t joined my club, might consider it next year.

The deal used to be that you could only play other crown golf course mon-fri. They decided to changeit a couple of weeks ago so you can now play any other crown golf course 7 days a week to encourage new members. You can only play other courses 8 times each but its still a great deal.

Following on from another thread i think this is great "value for money"

the crown deal is a great offer - you can play at any other course in the group (I think for free in the week / at reduced rates at the weekend)

I've been a member for over 3 years - and only played once at another crown golf course! I live so close to my course, its just to easy to go up there all the time

have many other members taken advangtage of the deal

Welcome to the forum.
Batchworth Park. Hmm. Got issues with Batchworth Park, but nice course. We play matches against them. Some how the handicaps never work out. Same view from other clubs in our league. Not sure why.

Do you play for the foxes?

I don't mate, I just liked the idea of being able to play several different courses for the price of one membership.

I have to agree that the idea of being allowed to use other courses is an interesting one especially with some of the ones Crown have in their stable. On a slight tangent, my course being "Royal" has entered into a number of recipricol arrangements with other Royal clubs in the UK and abroad which allows club members to get free or hugely decreased green fees. I'm wondering if in this economic climate whether there could be an argument for twinning clubs in different parts of the country in the same way towns have twins abroad. It would certainly add some interest and may generate more revenue as visitors come and spend money in the bar etc.

Ascot Golf Club was founded by local barrister F.J. Patton in 1887, and given Royal status by Queen Victoria later that year. Many of her children learned to play golf at Royal Ascot and The Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, was patron of the club in 1901.

Welcome to the forum, Homer isn't usually playing the role of historian, he is the forum page editor but also trebles as the forum yard dog!

He's a nice guy though, as is the rest of em (including the gals)
