A standard putter is nothing more than a lump of metal with a flat face for putting.
The measurement for an individual may have an effect.
The weight of the head also.
The design of the head is of little importance other than how it is constructed in relationship to the shaft, as this is what is important to the individuals style.
If cosmetics are your thing you will be buying one tomorrow, likewise if the name is your thing.

For as much brilliance there is in golf there is also a load of waffle.

There that should get the over serious upset.

As far as I am concerned putting is a unique skill in the game that simply requires a club with a standard type head that is the right weight for the individual and a shaft design that fits that individual best.

Most of what I heard on the promo is sales b****x and to a degree nonsense.

There are thousands of putter types out there, just why is that? Is it because the golf kit world has got its act togeather so well that this latest edition has got it right?

If anyone thinks the technology/make or design of a putter will have an effect like the same advances in other clubs, you are living in dreamword. If you buy one on that basis and your putting improves its purely coincidence or luck that youve chosen a club thats the right design for your style and the right weight for you.

Always fancied a prolonged spell with a scotty )(club not lass). Don't know if i could justify paying that for one unless i traded 2 or 3 of my other putters in. I could always test one for GM

I currently use an FTi after moving from the HyperX earlier on in the season. When i middled the HyperX I found it a very long club but also tricky to control. With the FTi I am hitting more fairways but I have noticed a loss of distance. The FTiQ appears to be a combination of the two and I am certainly looking forward to its release so I can give it a hit.
Just need to sell a kidney to afford it!!!!!!!!

That Callaway driver looks awesome, I love the looks of it! I live near the head office and they offer custom fitting, I am extremely tempted to have a splurge!

I've been round the Callaway site at Barwell Industrial Park in Chessington and it is awesome. If you are in the market for some new clubs/driver and fancy a fitting session it is a great experience. I like the look of the new driver but my money is being saved to potentially by the X22 tours which I really liked the look at.

That said the TM tour burners I saw in theshop today are good and there is all the other 2009 stuff still waiting to be released so I'm sure my preferences will change many times before money actually changes hands
