Still looking for a new driver but am on a serious budget so looking at Golfbidder or ebay sellers with very positive ratings! I play off 22 and have a tendency to slice the driver but not massively and not all of the time. Have seen a golf pro selling a used Ping G5 on ebay for £40 and wondered if this would be suitable for a higher handicapper?

G5 is a very good driver, my mate still plays with one and he is about the same handicap as you. have you thought about the K15 which is supposed to be very forgiving.

Same here. I was a terrible high pusher of the ball. Not embarrassed to say that I was turning to quick for my wee hands to catch up. I bought a Ping G15, and learned to draw it, and also learned to slow right down. I bought a 913 D3 the other day just because I prefer a smaller head, and not have the feeling of swinging the earth around my body.

I opted for a Mizuno MX-500 for £38 in good condition! Got good reviews back in the day, so look forward to giving it a go

I play off 22 and bought a SLDR for the extra distance. It was rubbish, miles worse than the G15 I sold for £50.
in essence my swing was/is rubbish. The driver I needed had to be forgiving. The SLDR was not. Well not for me. Anyway I bought a G30 off one of the lads at work for £125. It has been a revelation.
honestly when I hit it half decent its 50 yd further than the SLDR but in the middle of the fairway. It's strange walking past parts of the course and looking at a spot on the right hand side of fairways where my drives ended up with the SLDR.
Its even stranger getting to where my drive finished up because I was using woods for my second shots but now use lower clubs. I even had a nine iron into a green yesterday. Proper screwed me game up at the moment it has.
PING all the way for me.

any driver in the last 10 years is technically no better or worse than each other..........technically, as they all adhere to the same rigorous specifications.

Some will suit your eye better and some will have better or worse shafts.

Some have more money so their materials could be better but in reality go for Ping, Titleist, Callaway or Taylormade for under £40 you will get a great club.
I bought a Titleist 905R off ebay 2 weeks ago for £14 and it's gone in the bag and staying there, great club and slightly cheaper than the 915 at £325 and a 'bit better'

I recently bought a Ping G30 too and it's fantastic! Very forgiving and it goes miles. I'm now looking for a G30 hybrid if anyone wants to get rid of one?
