New driver

Morning all, I am in the market for a new driver but as always budget is the key! Read an article the other day on going for star award drivers from back in the day. Golfbidder and ebay obvious choices to pick up a bargain. Quality always shines through and these are still fantastic drivers. Just wondered if anybody had any recommendations? I like Cleveland and have been looking at the TI460 which you can get brand new for £49 off esc golf on ebay, I have also looked at the Ping G15 which you can get for £50 ish used. Anything else that maybe worth a look that has served you golfers well? Cheers

If you go new then Benross or MD have decent clubs out.

If you can stretch to a G25 I would but all the ping drivers are decent enough. We all know someone who still plays a G10 or even a G5

Your going to get loads of varying options thrown at you here, my pennies worth would be get a fitting to see what you need then have a look on golfbidder or similar to see if you can get the spec in a slightly older model, best way to get a bargain.

Getting an older club an upgrading the shaft is another option too, especially with all the adjustable options on offer.

Cheers guys! I have been an MD devotee over the years and been impressed with the quality on offer compared to the price. I do slice unfortunately and even though this has been alleviated with a stronger grip somewhat, I am trying to find a more forgiving driver. I have thinking about adjustable drivers like the Nike VRS str8 fit which again is going for about £50 but it seems like a cop out as It is my swing that needs to improve! At the moment inching towards the Cleveland TI460 as it seemed to get great reviews back in 06 and looks a solid option especially for £49 brand new! Appreciate the thoughts though

06 ?? that's eons ago in driver years, why don't you look at something with a bit of adjustability + who sells 9 year old brand new drivers ??

I picked up a Titleist 910 D2 on eBay for £36, and it's an excellent driver. I'm not getting on with it personally, and have gone back to my X Hot, but you can pick up excellent older drivers for a bargain if you keep looking on eBay. Titleist 910, Ping G10, Ping K15, Taylormade Burner Superfast, there's loads of fantastic older drivers that you can pick up for a bargain on eBay!

Can pick up a new adjustable driver for around 80sheets.

Depends what your budget is.

I saw some nice Taylormade drivers on Gumtree the other day which were quite cheap:

A few other bargains I saw for clubs which haven't been used was Online Golf. They had a Cobra Amp Cell for £90, Taylor Rocketballz Stage 2 for £120, etc. Well worth a look

You can change the condition to 7/10 and the price drops to £79, though they're out of stock! Not bad for £89 though, a very good driver!

As mentioned previously, the M3 driver is a bargain and will be a lot better than the new 2006 driver you are looking at.

Personally I think Ping are as forgiving as you can get and they would be my preferred choice to start. Callaway would be another brand worth considering. The only issue I have, and it's a personal thing, is that I like to try before I buy. However places like Golfbidder do have a 28 day money back offer
