Well My Mizuno MP630, which I’ve had for a good 5 years has a slight crack in the face, so needs replaced.

I ‘m not a fan of the newer Mizuno Driver and there are no shaft options as such avail anyway.

I’ve narrowed it down to;

Adams Speedline LS. I’ve go a local pro trying to get a demo model to try coming

Titeist 913, I’m not a Titeist fan as I don’t like the way the ball sits behind the ball, but played with a guy last night who’s off +1 and had a go of his D3 with Proforce VST red shaft and that felt great and had a really nice flight and seemed to go a decent distance.

TM Rocket Ballz Stage 2 TP, a mate has one and have hit a few balls with it and it was very forgiving and goes quite well.

Any other suggestions?

Not another suggestion ... BUT ...

I had the G5 since 2005 (i think) and had tried numerous different drivers over the years but none over appealed to me , went through my " I NEED a new driver " phase again a cpl a months back and decided to try a few

I settled on the RBZ Stage 2 and am loving it , driving it a mile (not realy a mile but you know what i mean) nicer ball flight and alot more effortless than any driver ive tried .. never thought id have a TM or a white headed driver but it won me over & is doing a great job for me

I recently went on a mini driver quest.

I tried and liked:
Nike covert tour
Callaway Razr Fit Extreme
Titleist 913d3
Titleist 910d3
Ping anser
Ping g25 but with the ahina shaft from the anser

I tried but didn't like:
913d2
910d2 (actually own this, spin it too much)
G20 (i own this too, very good but I hit it way too high)
Xhot

I didn't try anything taylormade.

Ultimately I bought the covert tour, and couldn't be happier. I get a lovely penetrating ball flight with it, much better than my previous 910d2 and g20 that I span too much and ballooned up in the air too easily on anything not bang out the middle. In theory it's less forgiving but I find the opposite because it is so low spin. A bad swing is still a bad swing though.
It was really between this and the ping anser for me.

I tried them all in stiff and xstiff shafts, all stock shafts (anser I hit the ahina), nothing exotic. I went with the stiff kurokage in the nike. It was a toss up between s and xs, I'm happy with my choice.

I posted with options for smaller headed drivers (not a fan of the bohemoths these days, anything huge still has to go through the air), anyway my post has vanished:confused:

The Adams LS you mentioned is right up there with the Bridgestone J40 445cc. The Bridgestone is on my list if I can find one to try

that would be interesting to see as i don't remeber ever seeing your post, which i would have read had i seen it.

I've slightly changed my view and embraced game improvement clubs, now that i have the JPX irons. Ive even taken mt 2 and 3 irons out the bag and replaced with hybrides;)

I still prefer a smaller head, but now would go just with performace i think with my next driver.

But saying that i took a demo Ping G25 with the stock stiff shaft and that just ballooned.

I'm loving my Titliest 913D with the Phenom Rip shaft, a mate got shot of his Titliest and replaced with the Callaway X-hot tour 440cc head driver, he can hit it a long way, but not as consistently as he could with the Titliest.

He's now on his own driver quest as he wants to replace the Callaway as he is regratting getting rid of the Titleist, he is fancying the new Adams driver.

I did see a lad getting fit for a new driver a few weeks ago, not sure what his own was, but he was trying the Cleveland adjustable driver and was able to consistently hit it about 20yds further than his own with good grouping as well.

just had a price back for the Titeist 913 D3 with the Pro Force VTS Red shaft.....!

£410 from Titeist, robbing buggers:(

My first reaction was OUCH! but looking the shaft up it is pretty expensive and on ebay at least they all seem to be in the US so rare too. Just shy of £100+P&P from the US... I guess plus the markup from Titleist.

It would be cheaper to buy an off the peg 913 £275 and the shaft at say £130, get Craw to put them together and sell the stock shaft for £40...£365.

That is a good question, but he's looking for the holy grail a driver that will send his ball 350+ down the middle of the fairway everytime.

He is going to test all the drivers the shop has in stock, Cobra, Nike, TM, Titleist, Ping, Wilson, Mizuno, Cleveland, Callaway and see which one comes out best, I would reckon that he will end up back with Titleist, but if the shop has the new TM SLDR in when he comes to try them out, he'll go for that as his bag is TM irons.

As posted below, the R11s still going like a shell a year and a half since I got it Patrick, imagine the spare change left instead of going for this years model....
I have literally this minute just purchased a TM R11s. I shall let you guys know how is goes.

I was thinking of doing something sim, The guy that had the driver last night got it from th manufacturer with the widgeton th end for £80 so mght do that.

Booked in at the local drivig range that has some sort of figh scope Friday night so will see wha the results are from the TM and a stock and maybe aything elset they have. I'm still hoping to get an Adams to try, but not sure how long that will take. in no rush the crack on my driver is in the middle of the face so its not an issue at the moment as ive not been hitting it out the of there anway.

could be an expensive mistake as you already dont like the way the club sits behind the ball:eek:
