I wish you could just buy a computer and it does everything you want straight out of the box.

I had new one delivered yesterday and it took nearly all day to set it up and do all the updates and load the programs I use and I do not use many on a lappy.

The biggest hassle was getting Sky Go to work on it. Funny thing was I got one of those automated requests for a review of the Sky website service. I do not think I have ever given such a poor review.

unfortunately Microsoft have recently issues a massive windows update (4Gb) which is required by ant windows 10 pc that doesnt have it yet
for anyone on a slow broadband connection it will take a while, but is fine on fibre or cable, but even then takes a while to install

Sky Go requires the latest version of whatever browser you are using, but will probably not work at all with Firefox.

does your lappy have a SSD hard drive?, if not why not ?

Yes came with SS drive as standard. Unbelievably fast boot up (but nothing really loaded yet).

Sky does not work Chrome, Firefox or Edge but it took me an awful long time to figure it out. Took me quite a while to realise that Win 10 has both Edge and IE 11 available.

My main reason for buying it was for watching Sky when away.

Pretty much impossible unless you don't want it to go online and don't use any programs.

I bet if we listed all the programs we use only 10 or so will be the same and I have over 200 installed.

Same

Are onto that setting up apple, Microsoft and google etc it can take all day.

Your PC is personal; your hardware, network, apps, accounts and of course the way you use it.

All these are so different no manufacturer can predict what you want.

Even setting up an apple phone would take ages if you could not import from iCloud.

This is less suitable for PCs due to the massive variances in hardware. Apple have control over the variables where Microsoft do not.

As an FYI, Sky Go will not work with Chrome. This is happening to a lot of pay for TV services as they have clocked on to people sharing logins and using a chromecast.

EDIT. Just seen you have worked that out! LOL

Apparently this is because Sky continues to use Silverlight for SkyGo and it will only work on IE11. It's a real PITA but Sky don't seem to want to change it.
