Hi,

i apologise if there are other threads covering this topic already but here goes!

i have recently started playing golf again and I need to buy a new set! I used to be a fairly average golfer playing off around 18 however I haven't played in around 5 years. There are some good value sets online that are in and around my budget (150 to 200). I'll only be plAying once maybe twice a week? Any advice on what to buy would be greatly a appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome along lad.

Best thing is to go to a retailer with a range and have a go with the clubs you like and choose which work best. They should then set them up for you. There are iron sets in your price range which were £500 as little as a year ago. Good luck

don't! buy a second hand set, AG or a local pro will be delighted to help you choose.

There is nothing new in golf except for the trend in making the number on the bottom of the iron meaningless by fiddling with the lofts so much. go on eBay and pick something with a nice cavity back, regular shaft and decent grips. You can pick up an incredible number of bargains under £100. I just bought a pristine set of Mizuno MX23's for 50 quid.
