New clubs - season expectations?

Hi all

ive been posting regularly the last few weeks about my bag upgrades from my gumtree beginner set. Expecting my new g20 irons to arrive tomorrow to compliment my new callaway razr x driver, v series woods and odyssey putter I've gotten in the last couple of months. Aside from figuring out yardages, any other advice to get used to the new irons? And regarding yardages, is the best place to do this with a simulator? I'm usually just eye-balling from the driving range

only been playing for about a year and a half and my best score so far is 109. My season ambitions is to try and consistently hit mid to low 90s, which I think is do-able if I stop all the stupid 7/8/9 holes

whats your thoughts? And what's your own ambitions for the season?

I'm intending to go out and just play. Empty head. No thoughts. Like you I'm good for 15-16 holes and chuck some car crash holes in there. If I can cut those I'm looking for good year

Yeah the last score for me was 109, this included three 7s, an 8 a 9 and a 10!

reckon I could cut 12 off that score if things go to plan in the next few months, hopefully more come mid summer

Your in a similar boat to me! Playing year and a half and my best scores 105. My aim is to shoot under 100 by summer by playing safer I.e not taking driver every hole I can , no more hero shots out of thick rough/trees etc

That's my plan too. My drives aren't actually my worst shot, it's usually the second or third where I mess up. Trying to reach the green from 200 yards out with a 5/6 iron, usually trying to smash it and totally Duffing it! When I could play a nice easy 8 and then a wee chip onto the green!
