I have recently changed golf clubs.
I have moved from Vivary Park,a municipal parkland course, trees everywhere.
To Taunton and Pickeridge.
What a difference in quality and professionalism.
Two totally different experiences.
I had been contemplating the move for nearly a year, and after being given the oppurtunity
to join some previous Vivary members and making up a 6 ball,i finally took the plunge.
It has certainly given me a new lease of life at the weekends.
I have already had two 3rd places in my first four comps.
Been cut from 9.3 to 8.9 my lowest ever and im confident theres more to come.
Anyone else getting a new golfing lease of life, and for what reason[keep it clean].

Same reason as you, new club = new lease of life. Looking forward to learning a new course, meeting a new group of golfers and having a new challenge. Lot of changes in my life recently (moved house, new job, new club) and enjoying the new lease of life and renewed enthusiasm they have given me. Little things at my old club were really nagging at me (remember the 'captains excuse me at the end of last year) and I felt that the course was not helping develop my overall game so really happy at the moment.

Joining a new club in june, but dont know anybody there, having second thoughts at the moment,so might not be a new lease after all, ill get my coat,

Not re-invigorated by joining a new club but finally after what seems like decades (to you and me) I'm seeing some short game progress and now the clocks are changing I just want to get out and work on it for hours on end. Can't wait to get out and play on Saturday and see what happens when I try it for real

Nice one Tony. Your obviously reaping the benefits of playing on a tight course for so long. You'll be cat 1 in no time.

After a case of the shanks in September - I set about trying to swing like everyone else. I struggled and in early january I filmed myself at the range. I had gone so far from the natural easy swing I had.

Dug up my old notes and am watching the same tips/videos that got me breaking 80 in august. In just 4 weeks I have broke 80 again and absolutely lovin it.

Lesson learnt really - dont rebuild the whole lot if the shanks pay a visit :)

good luck this season

That's nice to hear Pokerjoke, but be careful, if you keep on playing like that the members will be calling you "Bandit" before they really know you! :whoo:

I've just come back from my first lesson n although i,m nowhere near the handicaps that you lot are it's nice to finally know what i've been doing wrong, just a few little tweeks make a big difference i guess.

Lets see if i can break that 100 mark on sunday
