so my TT was involved in a fight with a downed tree branch and subsequently been written off :(

looking at 2nd hand motors, today I narrowed it down to either an A4 Avant TDI 59/60 plate (in Red... its was luvverly) or a BMW 320D which I liked the styling and drive but the interiors are a bit bland tbh

test drove a few others today and still not sure. I cannot goto Ford etc as they just feel crap after owning an Audi already. I tried an insignia and again it was a bit meh.

Any other suggestions I may have missed? Not in a massive rush as got a courtesy car 1.2 sxi corsa at the mo and its awesome ;)

deffo a large saloon or pref an estate due to getting back into fishing so plenty of room required

stick with Audi:thup:

A6 estate is cool- Make sure you get the S Line in whatever model you choose, makes a huge diference:thup:

new model 320d is still prob the best car i have owned, make sure if you get one, its the nav model with hard drive, leather is a must, its all about the toys with the BMW... mine was the ED model and i once had 950 miles from the 60ltr tank! averaged 50+ all the time.. but didnt feel much slower than my mapped 330d. all in all, a cracking car.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned a Merc. Take a look at the E class. BMW's do absolutely nothing for me I wouldn't thank you for one. Then again I would then swap it for an E class Merc, real refinement and quality.

Steve, if you like the 4 wheel drive aspect of the Audi but want decent boot room in an estate have a look at a Subaru Legacy estate, well pleased with mine.

Audi all day long bmw nightmare in snow with it been rwd

Coz it snows all the time in England. It's such a nightmare, I lie awake at night worrying about it. Even now, you just can't be sure. I look out of the window, check the forecast, but, heck, it could snow tomorrow. It was 18 today, but no guarantees, it could still snow tomorrow. My rear wheel drive will be useless. Heck, I've only had rear wheel drive for 20 years, and tomorrow it could let me down. Big time. I could get stuck, but heck, probably not, it's never happened yet. I've always got where I wanted to go,without fail, but apparently this is impossible with rear wheel drive.

Mrs mogs bm has fat tyres, 321 bhp, no traction control, no gadgets, and she has always got home, always got to work, what ever the weather. Rwd is not the issue, shonky driving is the problem.
