With all the variants and special editions do you not just need to stick your car reg into the various websites and it'll give you the price etc for the correct one for your car (then you can also check local motor factors to see if you can pick one up cheaper)

Bosch S4 or S5 shouldnt cost you more than 60 quid, and DIY.

check out euro car parts excellent prices and even cheaper through ebay. u will get a bosch s4 etc for cheaper than halfords cheapest battery. :thup:

I would advise get a pro to do it and do not DIY. All right changing a battery on a cortina in the old days. But now, you have spohisticated alarms, and immobilisers, for example, that need a constant link, and disconnecting a battery can screw this up.

As Lex said be careful , you might need the code for the car radio too , if you disconnect the battery.

by a new battery, take the old one out and put the new one in......take old battery to your local recyle centre..

I'm sure there's plenty of forums out there with the required information to enable you to do a decent job. It ain't rocket science however I do appreciate some people aren't comfortable doing things like this.

Some car manufacturers make it very difficult to remove the battery yourself without having to remove other parts of the engine.I live in Notts and found someone who came to my house and replaced one on an old Focus for about 70 notes.

Did you buy the battery separately and get someone else to fit it? Don't places like Halfrauds do free fitting if you buy from them?
