So I'm thinking of treating myself to a driver fitting, as I'm being made redundant I thought I might as well treat myself out of my package (will add the 19° Hybrid Big Bertha and a 52° Wedge too if I find another role before my final day)

Since I'm a bit of a Callaway fanboy I thought I'd try out this new one out of their range. Does anyone have it or hit it in the shops\fitting center and can share what it's like compared to the rest of the Callaway Driver range?

Book a slot at the Callaway fitting centre in Leatherhead. I also wouldn't go with too fixed an idea what I want, i.e. a GBB. Let the fitter figure out what works best for you.

I personally didn't like it in a recent fitting. Numbers where crap too. Did like the XR2 pro with the PX shaft. Numbers where spot on but wasn't as easy or as accurate as the G30. Which is a fairway finder.

I tried them both the other day. I would say they are nondescript. The fitter put them in my hand, I hit them, they felt ok, he did not like the numbers so we moved on. Nothing positive or negative to say about either head.

Do you spin the ball a lot as I think they are both fairly low spinning?!

Not sure to be honest, I've never had numbers done for me before hence why I'm wanting to go find out what they are and what will work for me.

I'm also going to the Golf Show on the 15th so might be able to try a few out there too actually.

Cool. London Golf Show? I think you will have to book a place to try things in advance.... Not 100% though...

I had a Callaway demo day recently and couldn't hit the GBB for toffee. Using the same shaft as the XR (which I was bombing) but just couldn't hit it, not sure why. Hated the noise, felt dead off the face and didn't particularly like the looks. Was XR all day for me.

Yep thats the one, booked a Friday ticket, unless I have another job to go to before then I'll be going to that one. I'll look into seeing if I need to book spaces to try clubs out.

I hate callaway products. Never likes the look of them ( apart from my mac daddy wedges)

I had a long session with their latest offerings and was well impressed. I went on the course with the gbb today having just ordered a m1. I'm left wondering if i made the right choice. Btw. The new king cobra is a bullet too.

Thats good to hear, thanks!

I have the hybrid, the adjustable one, and love it. Tried all the latest ones on a launch monitor before opting for that one. Even thinking about getting a second.

Thats the Hybrid I'm going to get too, the 19º one so effectively a 3 iron. I have the XHot 22º which gets me about 200yds if I hit it absolutely perfect, but more often than not it gets be about 190yds so want something to get me consistently over the 200yds mark, ideally around the 210 - 220yds.

Currently I go 22º then 3 Wood so need a gap in between.

i went for the 22 degree and actually have it set +1 draw at the moment. Distance similar to you with the X Hot so I was thinking along the same lines, get a 19 and then could play round with the adjustments to get the coverage. I have given up on a 3 wood for now as I wasn't getting much more than 200 yds and certainly less consistent.

So I've booked myself in for a Callway fitting at via my Pro Shop. My club is hosting the Kent Matchplay Finals on Monday the 19th and as part of it are hosting Callaway fitting sessions throughout the day, I've booked myself a slot for it. Looking forward to it.
