I had a very strange day on the course yesterday. Felt that I was playing terribly, a lot of bad ball strikes and many shots off target. Was amazed at the end when I totalled my score at 112. This is my best round yet. On examining older cards I realise that the difference was that I managed to avoid the usual couple of nightmare holes of 10+. It actually has me feeling quite good now as I feel if I can get my ball striking back, breaking 100 may be possible after all. I had played on Friday and was hitting the ball much better but had a few shots that went into the thick stuff and cost me badly, and a couple of balls OOB, scored 114. Now I realise these scores are far from impressive but at last I feel I am improving.

Lawrence,Keep at it mate, going through your score can you see where you can shave off those 12/13 shots from,if so you know that breaking the 100 is achievable, keeping the ball in play/course management is really important imo....

I totally know what you mean Lawrence,i shot my best round ever on Sunday there, and while I was playing I thought I was pretty poor! Just goes to show you the benefit of thinking one hole at a time and not about your final score. All the best chief,I'm sure your scores will be getting better every round. :D :D :D

Well done buddy!

Keep it up, looks like it is that time of year, the PBs are starting already. Hopefully I can beat my best of 84 soon. had lots of lessons and the driver and putter hardly miss.

Well done on your PB.

I had a similar experience yesterday. I think I only hit three greens in regulation, missed a load of fairways, found water down the 18th and yet had a nett 72. I feel like I played rather badly. It's a funny old game.

As an aside, every score is impressive if it's an improvement!

Thanks folks for the encouragement. Nearly didn't make the post as I am quite embarassed by how high my scores are at the moment. Hopefully I'll be into 2 digits before the summers out.

That's one thing you don't need to worry about here mate. We've all been there!

Nice one on the round by the way. Keep at it, and once the weather gets better and you're playing more, the scores will tumble.

Well played fella I now exactly where you are coming from. If you can keep it in play and work on your short game you'll be knocking shots off for fun. Keep us posted on your progress :D

Like Aztecs says!

Keep it up mate, don't be embarrassed at all, I shot a 90 odd today and I play off 8 apparently!! Don't worry what your scores are, or what others expect from you. Just do yourself proud and be glad of the good days and learn from the bad days.

Keep up the good work! :)

No pictures on the card. I think we've all had rounds where you can't remember a decent shot and come back with a good score and others where you feel you hit it much better but can't put a card together. It happens. Enjoy the PB and you know it is coming down lower very soon
