Hi All,

My stock ball has been the Titleist NXT Tour for a little while now, I recently ran out of them so have been using some old Pro V1s. However I thought it best to get back to some new balls so have been playing with the Bridgestone e6. I have really enjoyed playing with it so I went to the internet to buy some. As I was browsing AG I spotted the Bridgestone e5 for £15.99 for 12. A great price I though as its the only non premium ball to have a urethane cover.

Has anyone used them and how do they get along with them?

Good price hu!

Alex

I used a "find" for a couple of rounds last year and was pretty impressed.
I saw a graph of spin rates for a load of different balls a while back and the E5 was only a head behind the premium balls and streets ahead of most other cheaper ones.....
You'll lose a touch around the greens feel-wise but other than that it's a sound ball.

And dirt cheap too.....

I have used them, very impressed with them but I think they move about a bit due to high spin, so a little bit side ways on occasion. I have managed to get some serious back spin on them, so if that is what your looking for these do it. I would recommend them if you want premium ball performance at budget cost. The E6 is a little firmer, if they did something like the E5 with the E6 stability, I reckon they would have a winner on their hands!!

Ha, I thought exactly the same.... e6 is a nice ball and very like the NXT Tour but I think the e5 will be interesting. Shame you found it moved a lot as that is part of the reason I dont use a Pro V full time.

I actually don't like the pro v, and seek something different, in my mind I think they are indecisive they either spin or they don't but on their own bloody agenda! I headed towards Callaway, and used the hex ball, that span consistently (took me a while to realise, thought it was some knob not repairing his pitch marks) but since then I have kind of flirted with lots of brands based on recommendations and my own findings. At the moment I am using the Wilson FG tour, as its quite soft and I can compress it well in these temperatures, in summer it feels a little too squidgey. The callaway HX Diablo tour isn't bad might be a bit firm but usually hops and stops on a proper green in the summer, durable cover as well. I liked the new Pentas but hey have changed to something else .. I am generally going to play with what I have knocking about and not buy any more (wife goes bananas at the golf gear ... she is clueless! ) that is until I run out .. Which may be in a few years :(

If you like the E5 then you would love the rxs.

The balls are based on compression,
E6 is,.low at 45. Aimed at the slow swing and the high spin golfer.
E5, is higher compression at 75, its higher then the rx range, and being a 2 piece ball make it hard to beat with the soft spin cover.

If more people would try them I'm sure they would swap. Highly recommended golf balls.

Played a round today with an E5, first time using the ball. Very impressive. I usually play with a ZStar XV , didn't seem to see much difference in either distance or spin. Will try one again on next round, at the price would certainly think about using them full time

Well I'll buck the trend, I don't like them they feel like hitting a rock. For me the best budget ball is Srixon Soft Feel. £12.99 a dozen at Sports Direct. These feel great off the face of irons, woods and putters, really think it takes a lot to beat em.

I actually found the E5 nice and soft feeling, surprised to see earlier post saying ball felt like a rock. But I guess that's why golf balls are such a personal preference.
