Clubhousgolf website has the Nike VR pro limited edition 3 or 5 woods at £79.99, i know its since been replaced but its a great club, i snapped one up. if that doesn't appeal there is a cobra amp on there for £99.99 and an array of callaways £80-£100.

3 wood is a very personal choice imo.

Will you use if from the deck / tee / both, do you prefer low profile / deep / somewhere in the middle, what is you clubhead speed, is it a club you hit well / do you struggle to elevate / do you often balloon, etc. etc.

If you're not sure, you could perhaps try the Callaway X Hot range with has standard / Pro / 3 Deep, which get progressively deeper with less spin - that may give you an idea of what suits you best.

And don't discount a 4 wood, which are much easier from the deck particularly.

Thanks for all the advice guys much appreciated.
In regards to your thread maps I hit my 3 wood well off both deck and the tee.
I used my Dads Cobra stiff shaft 3 wood and that came off brilliant.
If by profile you mean club head size I like a good sized head with about 15° loft.

Nike VR Pro Ltd.

I've recently got the 3 wood after pondering for some time and it is an exceptional club, so much so I think I'll be adding the 5 wood to replace my hybrid.

The only club that has made me get rid of the old faithful Titleist 906 and TEE fairways.
