Hi all

Despite it only being about 4 miles from home I'm playing the Nevill this weekend for the first time.

Anyone know much about it? Any hints/tips?

Cheers

Nice course, and should be in good condition at the moment.
A bit tight in places, some holes are heavily tree lined, but a great selection of par 3's.
Always enjoy playing there.

Will keep an eye on this thread, it's 8 minutes from my front door, yet I've not had the chance to play it yet!

Have had a lesson with Andrew there, though. Top pro!

It's a bit of a cross over course - parkland with strong hint of heathland (or vice versa).

Plays like most courses; good tee shot gives you the opportunity to challenge the green. If you are playing badly off the tee there's little chance to make it up later in the hole.

Couple of awkward tee shots and 17 is generally a blind second. Don't like 18 at all - but it's the same for everyone.

Green are well contoured; if they are in good condition they become enjoyable but challenging.

Enjoy it.

Played it last year for the first time in our society and was the best course of the year! So much so we're going back next week, so hopes are high the course is in as good of nick still.

Has some great holes, is a little hilly I suppose depending on your fitness, but certainly worth more than one trip round!

Jake is a member there. I'm sure he'll be along before too long to give his views.

It's a decent track, I live nearby too but getting there involves crossing Tunbridge Wells town centre which anyone that knows the area will know can be hellish.

Good clubhouse, good course. Well worth playing. There's nothing particularly spectacular about it, but it's nice and well kept. The members guest rates are very reasonable.

I've seen they have a £500 introductory offer which I am tempted by for a years golf at a good price. I'd just play in weekend comps and can keep my hcp active.

It's only for:
  • Valid from June 1st - September 1st 2017

Unless I'm reading it incorrectly.

Played this afternoon.... Bit windy, accidentally left my driver in the car for the first 9 holes ( we started on 10).... So it was a bit of a struggle as my next club is a 3 iron.

I didn't think much of the club house if I'm honest... But it seemed ok.

The course itself is a real beauty. Lovely shaped holes. Great condition fairways and greens. Some holes really testing.

If I was going to live locally to here for years to come I would LOVE to be a member here.... It's a shame it's taken me so long to find it.

Only just seen this thread so am to late to help as a Nevill member, but glad you enjoyed your game Adam!

As you mention the clubhouse could do with some TLC but the club has been investing heavily in the course the last few years with great success. A lot of trees have been removed to make it more heathland in experience, and also quickier and fairer to play. The greens have also benefited from a having a consultant on board and have been among the best in Sussex and Kent the last two years IMO. We're now hosting lots of county matches and mini tour events so I think a few people agree too.

The best thing about the club for me is the membership. It's one of those clubs where everyone knows each other and all the staff and you can integrate with all the roll-ups or competitions without any worries about cliques.

It's only £15 to play with a member after 4pm, or £27 the rest of the time, so if anybody ever wants a game just drop me a PM!
