I have posted on here a few times about a person I play with who has temper issues on the course. Recently he gas made an effort to calm down, until today. After hitting another bad drive on the 15th he then proceeds to snap his driver in half over his knee. Never seen anything like it.

I'm ashamed to say I used to be Mr angry and after snapping a wedge over my knee at the belfry I can relate.

While you feel a complete twit ( many other suitable words ) it does release the stress, happy to say after reflecting I've calmed right down and don't let it bother me.

My names Oddsocks and in a shaft snapper!

i dont get folk who do this. cant stand it if a playing partner does this. its only a game yes i get frustrated and sometimes angry on course but i laugh it off.

I could easily snap and throw clubs. But I dont, a deep breath and shake of head.
And get ready for the next crap shot.

A lad that played with us a couple of year ago used to loss his rag pretty regular. Seen him throw a wedge into the bushes and never even went to look for it. He also smashed one of his irons against his powakaddy wheel and knackered the wheel, just picked his bag up and left the trolley. To be honest it was a bit embarrassing as you didn't know what to say, just in case he lost it again.

He doesn't play anymore ;)

Stenson snapped one of his clubs at the Open last year. It was rather comical, especially as he just calmly handed the two halves of the club back to his caddie!

There is a guy at ours that reshafts his own clubs as he snapped so many. Incredibly good golfer too although just outside cat1.

Some of the rumours of things he's done are the stuff of legend.

Here's a pic of a medal round from a comp last year.

You can't post a card like that without giving us the full story. :D

I have no idea why he nr'd. I asked him but didn't really get an answer, and I didn't want to push it.

One of the stories is that he once walked off while level par after 6 because he hadn't hit any greens.

One of my mates finished a round with only a driver, a four iron, a nine iron, a wedge and a putter. He spent four hours the next day looking for the head of his eight iron, in the woods, with a metal detector.

He's still great fun to play with.

Nothing wrong with a bit of emotion on the golf course. It's way better than a four hour sulk. Lose it, by all means, and then cheer the heck up.

You mean you actually told her?

Dam straight .... Convo went along the lines of

" hi babe how was golf "
" ok ish, hacked like a complete newbie and oh...... Snapped a club over my knee "
" (insert laughs) ... You (insert nonsuitable words& more laughs) "
" glad you find it funny it was one of the wedges you got me for Xmas "

MASSIVE AWKWARD SILENCE! :mmm:

One of my pp was having a bad start to the round. Second shot on the fourth he hooks one into the trees and oob. He's no really raging, turns round and smacks his club into his bag. 30 yards later I had to tell him his driver is hanging out of his bag at a 90 degree angle! Snapped the shaft of his r1. Had to play the rest of the round without a driver and a costly replacement after!

Coincidently, it was an R1 that ended today in 2 pieces

mmm must be something in it!! Funnily enough he'd only had it back a few weeks as after he hit a drive the shaft had snapped and sent the head flying down the fairway!! 2 shafts in a month!!
