I played in a KO Cup match the other day.
It was a comp where the match has to be played by a certain date against your drawn opponent.

I was drawn against a youth & because of the awful weather we have been struggling to get it played, anyway we arranged to play it after an open comp had finished on Sat.
What a massive mistake that was, I started off ok, But the the waiting started, every tee was a 10 minute wait with queues all around the course, so we couldn't play through.
I lost all rhythm & consistency, it was though I had never played golf before, it was bad beyond bad.

I was so cheesed off that I thought about walking off after 9 holes (I was 2 down by this point)
but thought better of it as I didn't think the was a very sporting thing to do.

To make the day even worst, the youth was a miserable / sulky individual who just grunted when spoken to & spent the whole round annoying the hell out of me.

Yes I lost, but not because he was particularly good, but purely because I was so bad.
It was the worst day's golf I have ever experienced & I am still seething 2x days later.

Rant over.

we've all had them, the bad rounds and the annoying opponent who you wouldn't spend 2 mins with off the course.

Chalk it up to a bad experience and the new experiences will seem even better in comparison.
