Played in an open today at Ryburn golf club Nr Halifax.
It is a small nine hole course with different tee positions for the 2 nines with a par of 66.
Anyways long story short I went out in 35 (2 over gross) and came back in 31 (2 under gross) :D minus 7 handicap for a nett 59 and a 1 shot victory.
I still feel like I left some shots out there though, I hit 9 GIR on the back 9 with no birdie putts of more than 15 feet and only converted 2 of them (need more work with the V-easy) including missing a 2 and half foot birdie putt on the 18th  for a gross 65.
Even though I would consider it an easy course and it is only a par 66, it is still my lowest gross round ever and the card will be going into my club which should result in an handicap cut :D

Great shooting mate. Must be a nice feeling to break the magic 60 on any course.

Didn't know you could submit a card from another club though - does it have to be in an authorised comp?

Good shooting.
No matter how "easy" a course might be, you still have to hit it straight and get the ball in the hole.

Well played fella.

Like Murg says. Regardless of the course par you've still got to hit fairways and greens and it sounds like you've done that here.

It was a registered open competition, and it is the club I have played at who will be sending the card to my club, especially seen as I am playing there in another 4bbb competition next weekend

If, as he says, it was an Open, then it will be a qualifier and attract a nice cut. Good shooting, no matter the length you still have to play the shots.

I have looked on how did I do and it says on there CSS was 64 so I am looking at a full shot cut at least, so will be down to at least 6.3, my lowest handicap ever, happy days :D
And I was only 1 of 2 players all day to break 70 and I shot the lowest gross :D

Well done Craig...crap putting on the back nine :p..

Cheers Harvey, to be fair, I feel I putted well apart from the last, the greens were in fantastic condition and I didnt leave anything short and I would say 80% of the putts shaved the hole and had a chance of going in
It could have been a stupidly low round :o
