Has anyone heard about this "craze" going around Facebook ?

It appears you get nominated by someone who has downed a pint and you then follow suit and also nominate people - people ask others to do it at various times and wearing certain clothes etc

Harmless ? Well I thought that but it seems that one person has died doing it ?! Not sure of the full details ?

I heard the brother of one of those that died on the radio. His brother jumped into a river, even though he could not swim. He tried to save him and almost drowned himself. Just a waste of a young life.

2 have died. One in Dublin (Ross Cummins, 22) was found dead after drinking a pint of Captain Morgan's the night before. The other is the story you have linked. His brother nearly died trying to save him.

There has been a few near misses as well. One guy reportedly passed out after entering a slurry tank as part of his neknominate stunt. Absolutely ridiculous fad. Bring back planking.

Nekmonimate is as daft as some of the people who have done it. I have had 3 nominations and told them in no undertain terms NO!
I have to think what exactly did the lad think when he downed a pint of strong spirit and even out of your face on alcohol why on earth would you jump in a river when you can't SWIM!
I get you have to down a drink, I've done enough of that in my time, but why are people taking it to such stupid extremes?

I think it seems to have got a bit out of hand.. I mean people necking a pint or a short for a laugh is fine, but it seems everyone is trying to out do everyone else so have started "experimenting"....

I was told this morning and given a facebook link, though i couldnt watch myself, that some guy downed a pint that his mate had gone number 2 in.

I think if you are daft enough to consider such a dangerous practice then I'm sorry but I have no sympathy. Same with those taking these new batches of drugs in nightclubs that have led to people dying and being hospitalised. If you don't know what it is why put it in your body?
