Went to one years ago and it was a good day out. they had arange built over the lake. me and a mate went to the TaylorMade stand at the range to try the brand new Bubble 2 Titanium driver. Andy did always have slightly sweaty mitts and managed to let go of £250 worth of driver that went sailing into the lake.
just so happened that Monty was giving a clinic further up the range so the place was packed. At the sound of the slash the whole world turned round to see Andy looking like death. The closest I've ever been to dying laughing - it hurt so much. And to cap it all the TM rep said that it was the 7th one they'd lost that day. Apparently they sent divers in at the end and fished out a dozen.
if they have it again I might just let go of a Diablo - best thing for it!
in the next issue of GM (out Nov 1 or thereabouts) there's a special voucher giving you half price entry to the NEC golf show. So, if you're thinking of going, hold fire on buying tickets at full price and wait for your GM voucher
Went to the Golf Show last year at the NEC and it was a complete waste of time. Made up mainly of unknown golfing manufacturers trying to flog you the latest must have 'useless golfing gadget'. Added to this there was the usual Credit Card sellers you get at every exhibition and numerous timeshare touts.
There certainly were a lot of timeshare, but there were also a lot of courses promoting themselves too. Not to mention the overpriced belfry shoppe. Anything that was worth trying out needs prebooking as soon as you walk through the doors,or you might as well forget it.
There are deals to be had, but not as many as you would like to expect. If I'm off work I'll be going, but not going out of my way if I would need to book time off as the few holidays & lieudays I have left are near enough all spoken for.
