Went out for my first medal round of the year today with pretty low expectations as I had played awfully yesterday. Not the greatest front nine, out in 48 so just about playing to my handicap but was scrambling for that. Not sure what they put in the half time bacon sandwich but something clicked after that. By the end of the 17th I had only taken 37 on the back 9 so needed a par on the last to break 90 for the first time. Sadly the fifteen foot but for par finished an inch right so tapped in for a round of dead on 90, 42 shots on the back 9. Not sure how that leaves me standing in the medal as the computer was down and so just handed in the card but a net 63 must be in the running. Not bad for the first medal of the year and to put in a competitive card on a 27 handicap is pretty pleasing. Just a bit disappointed that I did not break 90.

Good shootin there pal. Good luck with the result, a nice cut for the start of the season then.

Always good to finish well. I can always take positives from a better back 9 if the front was poor.

A quick update

I WON

First golf win in a comp and in a medal as well (despite comments on previous threads I now believe this to be the purest formn of golf until my next howling medal round)
