Nearly an eagle.. longest flag hit

Played mixed s/f this month. Played cack on most holes.
Our 11th is a long P4 with a blind tee shot into a dip. Depending on where you tee shot finishes, it is either a downhill or a side hill approach shot. We played off the back and got a good tee shot. Ball finished on flat ground for a downhill shot. GPS said 186y to the middle and the flag was at the back (185-195y). My 5i is 175y range but i normally dont play it as I cant control it. As I had nothing to lose except a 0.1, took it out of the bag and gave it a mighty heave.

Imagine 4 jaws hitting the floor as the ball sailed all the way, bounced near the flag, hit it and then died about 3feet. Tap in for birdie... indeed a simple game. (dont tell anyone I blobed the14th P5)

Now thats my longest hit to the pin... what the forum average?

I've hit the stick once....was on the 18th but from 75(ish) yards. The hit wasn't kind though....but I did make par.

I have hit the flag on a green from about 200 yards. Only problem was, it was next to the green i was aiming for from about 200 yards if that counts?

Ive only ever hit a flag once, 7 iron from around 170 clattered the bottom of the pin and shot off 30 yards into bushes....blobbed it

Nearly had an Albatross a couple of years back on our par 5 13th
Drive had left me about 220ish out and the ball flew bang on line, pitched just before green and rolled up to hit the pin and finish about 4-5 feet away.
Missed the bloody Eagle putt too.....

I've only hit the flag once and it was last Monday. Par 4, 2nd shot, 80-90 yards out, hit a PW, ball dropped straight down after hitting the flag and couldn't see the hole so could be in could be out.

Walking up to the green I see the ball right next to the hole. Knocked it in for birdie but just left thinking 'what if?'.

I had an Eagle on the SI 1 7th at Castle Stuart off the very back tee's a couple of years ago. 189 yards with an 8 iron

Though it was a"strong Tailwind"

Hit the flag lots of times, but most memorable was on our 3rd hole. Was playing around 170 (pin at the very back of the green), hit a seven iron and watched it all over the flag ..... only for it to hit the flag pole full on and roll/spin right back off the front of the green!!! Must of been a good 30 yards of spin to get fully off the green ... finished with a bogey

Hell of a hole, that one.

No idea what my longest flag hit was. Doesn't happen often and when it does, it's usually with shorter irons.

I've had a slam dunk ace from 95 yds.
also holed out from 160 for a bogey

In a match last year my oppo thinned a bunker shot that hit the top of the flag and dropped straight down for a gimme....

Last year I holed from about 80y.. It was on our 14th P5.. Was playing military golf, after 4 shots hadn't reached the green and then magic happened. One of my playing partners called me a bandit and did not see for another 6 months!!!!

18th at our club I thinned a PW off the tee, it flew roughly 15 yards in the air straight at the flag and then deflected onto the back of the green, still my closest shave for a hole in one!
