Hi everyone new to the forum

I joined a club for the first time last year and now have an active handicap. I see on golf empire there are lots of matchplay competitions to enter such as Nike Matchplay, Mtachplay championship, HDID matchplay etc

Which one is best to enter from peoples experience?

sign up for the HDID order of merit as a first pass, that takes all of your medal rounds at your home club into account and pits you against the rest of the nation.

I've only played the Volvo (now Nike) Matchplay better ball and really enjoyed it. You get to play some different courses and get courtesy of the course for the round. Only trouble is trying to arrange a day both parties can make it, can sometimes cause some issues.

They are all pretty much alike, regional ko rounds 4/5 before regional finals at some declared (northern/southern matchplay English tour) others to be confirmed Nike. Just depends which suits your playing schedule best, check round dates closing dates to see when games are to be played. Whichever you decided enjoy!

Oh forgot the hello and welcome!

Theres the 4nations I played in last year where the regional winners represent their country at a finals in England somewhere, and the Nike (formerly Volvo) matchplay where the regional finalists compete in the Algarve for 4 days. Both have singles and 4BBB.

Worth doing if you dont mind some travelling, good for meeting others and playing new courses.

Both are around the £20 per head to enter
