Beware self indulgent post .

Having a day late birthday and HiD with friends had arranged a round at Carden Park but kept it quiet from me. Knew we were playing golf but not where. Instructed to drive up A41 and once we turned left at Whitchurch suspected it was going to be Carden , have played there e few times many moons ago with Maureen Madill.

Anyway , stinking hot day and we're off on the Cheshire at 11.00, no one in front or behind , parred the first two then threw in a cheeky birdie but dipped a bit on the par 3 8th with a double and bogied the last to be out in 38 and 19 points to HiD 21 and mates 20. Mates wife would have been playing but recovering from appendicitis so buggied around.

Couple of good up and downs on 10 and 11 then birdie on 12 with a shot. Just missed birdie putt on 13 .

Par 5 14th Birdie
Par 3 15th Birdie
Par 4 16th Birdie
Par 3 17th , down hill , pin at front with green going away from you, 162 to flag. Flushed a 7 iron to pin high and up hill putt, rolled it in for Birdie.

Par 4 18th,334 yards and for those who know it it risk and reward, easy mid iron to fairway, iron on and two putt or go for it and well placed bunkers past water hazard to the left awake you.
Mate says go for it and ripped driver...... straight into water hazard, oh B******. Got down there and was visible and very playable with 56 to the flag. Full 56 from the fluffy lie and nestled down 18 inches from the flag, one tap in later and 68 blows for my best round ever with 30 coming home and 27 points , 46 in total.

We then repaired to the Cock of Barton for an excellent lunch and a few pints of San Miguel.

If Carslberg did day late Birthdays :D:D:D that would be it .

Cheers

Back in 30, that's like they do it on the telly :D
