Played my usual 9 hole course today. Par is 33 and I'm usually very happy with mid 40s and not too disappointed if I'm under 50 as I play off a handicap of 27.

Today I was on fire! After putting the first tee shot a little wide and eventually chipping in for a par I went on to par the next 3. Then I drove the green on a par four and took a birdie!

Sadly I dropped 7 shots on the last 4 holes but even then I'd have taken the scores on those holes if you'd have offered them before I set off!

Finished with a very pleasing 39, a gross 6 over par or net 7 under!!

yay!
Days like that make it all worthwhile.
Hope you can consolidate soon. if not, have patience. it will come back one day.

Having had a little purple patch of late I was back to my normal mediocrity today. Tempo was way too fast on most of my shots and I was hitting lots of hooks. I'm hoping it was just a bad day but we're coming into the big part of the season with the monthly medal next wee and then Captains Day and Club Championship the following two weekends. Not the time for my game to go walkabout again.

I hit it quite well on the practice ground midweek so was looking forward to it today. Ho hum

I am expecting business as usual next time out - mid 40s again. And if I get less than that I'll be a very happy man again.

It's only when I have gotten 5 or more consecutive rounds in hitting under that 40 mark that I'll start thinking about playing around twice and looking to break 100, 90 and maybe even 80!

Play 18 holes man, 9 is only a quick flirt with the course.
Ive been -6 gross after 9 holes before, means nothing in my opinion until its over 18 holes.

Good scoring all the same.

I am in the same boat fella, 3 littleuns under 6, demanding wife and a job that doesnt seem to have defined working hours!

I couldnt play the game if it was only 9 holes per outting, for the sake of another 1 1/2 hours, its worth it fella.
