Hi all

I am relatively new to the game - been playing on and off/pitch and putt for a few years but now really trying to get into the game so if anyone has tips/advice it will be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Sam

Hello, welcome to the board. I got hooked on the game last August, addicted ever since.

Bit of advice for you ; Don't leave your clubs lying around the golf course because it breaks your heart when you realised you've lost a club !!!!

Welcome.

My advice would be to get a couple of lessons to make sure you have the basic swing technique sorted. After that get out as much as you can and enjoy playing and learning. Once you've finished come back on here each time and tell us all about it.

If you really want to work on your game, look at getting a good putting action and short game and then work on any drills your pro gives you when you learn the swing

Welcome sam, initially just get yourself out there as often as poss and enjoy what you do, try not to get too angry with the game, just have fun with it.

Seeing a pro is a good idea, if you can get temp membership at a decent club somewhere it would be worth it to get you into things, some pro's run range tuition and some may do them at their club even though you are not a member so its worth enquiring .

hi sam, like every1 else has said just get out there and have a laff, allways good to c a pro early as you can because it was 6months after i started that i went and i picked up some really bad habbits that wer hard to correct. Good luck and happy golfing!!

Well thank you one and all for the advice tips etc - having my first lesson this weekend so will be sure to let you all know of the first hole in one...optimistic, hmmm maybe... :D
