Ever have one of those days? I hooked my drive at the 1st hole into a gorse bush, took a penalty drop back down the line, then hit the ball back into the same gorse bush. So I blobbed that hole, and it never got much better after that. Ended up with only 20 points, which is easily my worst score since I joined Batchworth Park! Not my worst ever though, which was 11 points at my previous club when I was having a fit of the shanks. :(

I had 17 points a couple of weeks ago at the Montgomerie in Belek. Unfortunately I had had too much ale in the bar the night before and the next day I was suffering from the shakes. Probably drunk more alcohol that week than I will for the rest of the year. Still enjoyed the golf though.

I played really well one Saturday at home course a couple of years ago, then went to Morecombe the next day for a society day...

Score 9 points and won nearest the pin....!!

At a works society day, we once had a guy who only scored one Stableford point. I don't think he had ever played golf before, but he had seen it on television and thought 'how hard can it be'? He played several other sports including cricket btw. He turned up without any clubs and the hosting club loaned him a rather nice set of the latest (at the time) model Titleists. I think he found out the hard way that golf is rather more difficult than it looks! :mmm:

Sounds like a prime candidate for a Club Handicap.
:D

That's golf, next time you will probably shot high 30s. Bet it was fun though, cant beat Golf even on a bad day.

My wifes lowest score was zero, yup a big fat round zero at the no longer Austin Lodge club in Kent, not even that hard a course and she had played quite a lot prior as well:rofl:

A poor days golf is better than any day in the office

Amen to that.

played a nine hole morning comp at skeggy, Seacroft and got 5 points, that bloody SLDR Embarrassed me for the last time. The only consolation was that another guy got four points. I was not accepting the fact he was hungover coz he got back to the B an B at 6.00am.
shot about 19 in the 18 holes in the afternoon inc a birdie two.

I had 19 at Preston in an open with the NW crew a couple of years back. I had a mare whilst actually really enjoying the course! Nothing went right from tee to green to putting. One of those days!!!

What are these good days you talk of?

Sunshine, no wind, tees at the front, new barrel changed in the nineteenth. Members bounces. Players waving you through. All pitch marks repaired and divots replaced.😳

Yeah Chris D when are these good days gonna happen😁

My pp once scored 4 points off a 12 handicap in the club championship. He had a severe and i mean a severe case of the shanks. He scored 2 points on the 18th. I quoted the tin cup line "use your putter, you cant shank that" so he did and got a net par!!!! at the presentation the club gave him a prize of a free golf lesson

How often have I seen this thread around lol. Always depressing and funny at the same time. My lowest is 17 - abroad on a golfing holiday. In fairness I got in at 7 am, had breakfast and got on the bus. The front 9 was not as shocking as the back 9. I should have never allowed myself to get to the hangover stage. Easier to play drunk than hungover in my experience.

With no alcohol my lowest score was 23 (a few weeks back actually). The amusing thing was that the day before I scored 41 points over 17 holes (one hole closed). Golf - a pure mystery
