Gentleman

I have booked the tee for midday. It will be quiet anyway as the comps will have all gone out by then. If we need to change the tee times we can do. the club are very flexible.

As I have said I will get to the club for about 1100 so if anybody wants a brew or butty before you go out you can do. Or use the range, practice green etc.

I think fees should be between £10-15 quid as its winter rates now.

If you havn't done so already please PM me with your details or just let me know if you are in by tommorow night by posting here and i'll get in touch with you.

No numbers on spaces the more the merrier. Hope to see you there sat, dont let the cold put you off.

A mainly fine day on Saturday. Rain could push up from the south during Sunday, with the driest weather in the north. Showery on Monday.

From the met office website!!!

Tony.....I'm going to the practice ground now. I'll see if a) I can actually hit a ball and b) If I can find a selection of 3 (or 4!) tops that'll keep me warm.
I'll let you know ASAP.
At least it's supposed to be dry-ish.

I've cleaned my clubs and put the trolley bag and spare clubs in the shed.....from now until March (?) I'm carrying again.

OK.....my 7 irons are going like missiles, but my driver only 20 yards further.....but, hey, you can't have it all.

I'll be there.....at about 11 am. Find me in the car park or on the practice green.

or troughing butties in the bar.

Now....to sort out some suitable warm clothing....

How well is it holding up to the weather?

Just trying to work out if I could drop H.I.D. off somewhere for the day shopping.

BTW if I can be persuaded i don't mind bringing someone if anyone is interested but doesn't have transport.

I guess I'd better bring some straws to draw....got to be 4 ball betterball or skins!!!

Skins is always great fun in a four.....last time I played it (a long time ago) nobody won a hole outright until the 13th, when the pressure was too much and ALL of us completely lost any ability to hit the ball. As I remember it the least good player won a par 5 with an 11 and took all the first 12 skins.....game over!!!

I aint been the couse for a week so am not sure but it has been dry here all day so hopefully tonight will be the same.

With any luck the cold weather will keep the ground firm too. We dont have any temps although there may be the odd winter tee.

We play skins every tuesday at my gaff but betterball is always a great game, great to have a bit of a team thing going on.

O and Vig, you could always drop the Mrs off at my work Chesire Oaks for the day, hell al even put a 10% discount voucher away for her aswell! its only a few miles away from the course.

Update on course condition.

Played Front 9 at Mollington today, mainly wet and muddy but still very playable from the bulk of the fairways (a couple of nice new water features as well!!!).

All greens in use and rolling really well. However, they have moved to forward tees (a couple of mats) and the par 5 624yd 7th has been shortened by a couple of hundred yards.

Word of caution to those bringing a trolley, only hedgehog wheels allowed although you can hire for about a fiver I think.

Hope this helps

Yes it is. On hols this week and played Mon and today, Mon was off normal tees but they have now moved to Winter, don't know if you have played the course like this but the winter tees tend to be 10-15 yds in front of the normals, apart from the 7th & 10th when they are a considerable way in front. If mats are the same they have these on 2, 4 & 10.

Sorry finished that post too early,

Cheers for that Barry, really should of mentioned the hogs!

Greens always play pretty well. I would like like to say shame the 7th has been shortened because you guys wont get to play it in all its glory but I aint bothered It means we'll get to drive over the lake to start! :p

Where are the mats, I know there is one on the 4th? does the second have one too I cant remember?

Must empty my bag of clutter before Saturday.

Think I will put the waterproofs on before I go out to keep the mud at bay and keep the weight down.
