Sunday was the first time I had managed a full 18 holes while using the same ball!

This may sound meticulous but for someone who uses multiple balls a round, and won’t leave home unless I have at least 10-15 in the bag, I was more concerned with keeping the ball than my score.

Only had one scare, on the Par 5 12th carved a drive out to the right and couldn’t find it in the rough, about to give up when I found it buried deep, was over the moon to find it so thought id thrash a hybrid 220 yards to the front edge, in for birdie.

Anyone else get enjoyment out of the little things in golf, or is this usual practice for most…..

If I wasn't in a shared office I would be standing now giving you a clap :cheers:. It is still rare enough for me to do that that it gives me a huge buzz. Well done, congrats. My downfall is usually realising I am on the same ball by around the 12-13 and then duck hooking out of bounds and losing it. Muppet.

Why Thank you, Mr Lannister!

It must be something about the 12th as last time I played I teed up on the 12th and thought “I haven’t lost a ball yet!” then proceed to top one 30 yards away into the stream separating the tee and fairway! :mmm:

Ha ha. That sounds so familiar. At my last forum meet I got to the 17th and proudly told Beezerk that I was still on my original ball. I then proceeded to pull it left on a fairly easy tee shot and hit it over a fence / wall. I was crushed. I'm still smarting from that. I get to use the same ball all the way around maybe once or twice a year. I like to think it is because I play tough courses

Obvs not the best golfer but I dont lose too many balls.
Until our 17th last week id played 3 full 18's not losing a ball, 2 of those courses were away too!

Keeping the ball for the same round is one of my golfing goals for the year. I did it last year and this year (in September), albeit thanks to my PP finding my ball in a hedge after a very bad greenside bunker shot! The two balls are now attached to my golf bag as a reminder that I can do it.

I nearly did it again last week - hole 16, same ball! Told my PPs, then promptly hooked the tee shot into the driving range and out of bounds!

So congratulations - I understand the achievement! :D

Top feeling!

Getting a ball out on the first tee looking at it and thinking - I best not loose you today...then putting it back into your bag after the 18th, always a good feeling.
