Really happy with my round in general on Saturday (87) good for me but managed a very lucky eagle on the par 5 6th at merristwood. Messed up the 7th with a 7 which was really avoidable and just plain stupid so would have been an 85 if I didnt fluff a couple of chips.

Driver in the right hand rough - 6i lay up to around 100 yards out and a 50 degree wedge went in - I wish I had waited to see it drop - it looked bang on line but a bit short but one of the chaps in our 4 ball said it rolled up nicely and just dropped in.

Had to tell someone that might have a modicum of interest as the other half barely raised an eyebrow - lol

Congratulations, not something that I've achieved yet. One that you'll always remember.

Good score!

They are always fun to get, not had one in a few years now.

Next challenge is to have had one in each of a par 3, 4 and 5.

Well done.

Loved merrist wood, great fun course to play when I used to play it and the greens were lovely.

Well played.

I've only ever had one, on a shortish par 4 at Chartridge. I was so happy I did a lap of the green and the ball is mounted in a wooden eggcup at home on display for all to see.

I was with him in the four ball, it was an epic shot...I also didn't see it drop as I was wading into the bunker...one of many I ended up in that day!! the flight was lovely though! :) it was a proper shot! :)

You should get it a little plinth to go on :-) keep it on top of your mantelpiece! We'll have to go out again some time see if you can replicate it :-)

Well done.. and (belated) welcome to the forum...
I always liked the 6th. After my drivers have found water many a times, i now have a different approach to the hole...
>> 5i >> 7 or 8i >>9i or P to see it run up to the green. Somedays it seems to work well

Did not know that we had a forumer from Merrist Wood. I am a member, but wont renew when the subs come due next month, so we should get a round together. Let me know what works for you. PM me your details

not renewing as i need the money for the house work.. its a shame because it is a good course and I like it.. but golf is going to be on a slow burn for the next 12 months or so...
