Morning all!

Had a couple of rounds in the last 2 weeks, and the other day I hit my first birdie!

It was a 145 (ish) yard par 3, I clipped an 7 iron to within 5 feet, and for once managed to putt well and drained it!

I'm not sure what the proper etiquette is when you get a birdie, but I'm pretty sure you won't find 'doing a victory lap of the green' in a manual anywhere...

I ended up losing the round to my 2 playing partners, but that made my day!

And then yesterday I shot a personal best, and won the round by 5 shots! I love this game!

LOL, well done!! i did a similar "victory dance" when i chipped in from about 18ft last week at the 18th for birdie at the oxfordshire! it made a very average round awesome for me!!

Golf has a funny way of making you forget the toilet shots and remember the one or 2 crackers!!

I have birdie'd the 18th after a horror round before and left the course smiling. You definitely have to take those pro's because there are plenty of shots you wish you could forget.

Proper birdie etiquette with our Seniors is that you must carry a birdie flask in your bag for such eventualities and offer a nip to all in the group. I carry 4 - whisky, brandy, rum and a mystery special.

Well done fella.

Hopefully you have the birdie hunger now and you will continue to hunt them out.

Ash!!

Well done mate and you know the cool thing is that the feeling of getting your first birdie stays with you everytime you get them after....wait until you get an eagle Ive achieved one in my life and that still makes me smile :) ,and as for a hole in one.............
