My first 18 holes of 2016 beckon

With moving house late in 2015, and the biblical levels of rain in the Glasgow area so far in 2016 ( i.e course closed etc), this Thursday will be my first full 18 holes of 2016 - and I cannot wait.

Work and new house pressures led me to blew a fuse the other day and HID quickly advised

"Big man, you need to take a day off and de-stress"

Well, I took my good lady at her word and cleared my diary for Thursday.

I'm pegging it up for my first round on North Berwick West Links.

I deffo got the West Lothian bug last year, playing Gullane and Archerfield, so I've taken the opportunity to knock another one off the list.

The forecast is for bright blue skies...just keeping my fingers crossed that Jack Frost takes the day off.

Still playing off mats, so hopefully wont chunk too many approaches..

Well crawly played today and it was gorgeous, had to check the calendar when I got in to check it was February.

Play at Cambuslang ( a nice wee 9-holer) unfortunately it has suffered with the rain, with the club taking the correct decision to close for about a 1.5 weeks in early Feb. Hope we reap the benefits later in the season

Yep - fcast looks good. Cant wait after a a friend sent me pics from his round at Dundonald Links yest. Blue skies, light breeze....perfect !

A nice tight nine holes it is too, from what I remember. Used to live just across the Clyde from Cambuslang

Cheers mate, yes it can be a wee challenge if you get out of position. As a 9 holer I don't think the course gets the credit it deserves

thanks Ian, I remember watching this at the time. Can't wait, heard only very very good reports. One of my mates grew up playing The Glen every summer as a boy and is gutted he can't get the day off.....although he is playing NB next month, so I don't feel too bad for him
