My best game today

Played with a good friend this morning and after a few weeks of dross broke 90 with an 89, 43 out and 46 back with 2 8's on the card. My best ever round and par71.
ps - beat him in matchplay as he was giving me 16 but lost by 10 on strokes. chuffed to bits

Yes your very good friend was more then happy to be there when you broke 90. Having first met you on the first tee at Spey Valley a quivering nervous wreck (due to the cold ?) who then proceeded to hit 4 balls of the tee. To see the improvement in just 2 months is amazing.

As I told you today if you can cut out the couple of bad holes a round you will be shooting mid 80's on a reguler basis and your handicap will be in the teens.

When you said on the third that your line was the telegraph pole and you hit it square on from 200 yards away that is mighty impressive and to follow it by hitting a 150 yard marker post on the 13th from 100 yards was just showing off.

Anyway enough of this glowing praise. Just wait till the return at Aberdour !!!!

He's a good player, off 8, and helping me along. It must be hard for low handis to play against high ones as he ended up having to birdie a few to get a half. Here's hoping one day i'll be in that position. saying that, he was in the high 70's on a course he's played once
