I've always kept every scorecard from every round i have played.

Had a quick look at the pile yesterday and noticed my first ever round of 18 holes of golf was dated 11/7/12

So it's been a year since i took up the game.

I scored 135 on a par 73.

My best has been 98 (+25) since, but the last 4 rounds have been 102,104,103,101 so the consistency is there

Unfortunately i'm consistently poor!

Joining Darlington GC will be the order for the next year, followed by some lessons and obtaining a h'cap!

you have a great foundation to improve, think of the positives.
And scoring just over 100 is not the end of the world.

Work on your short game, trust me when I say it will knock multiple shots off your round!

After only playing a year (and assuming that you play maybe once/twice a week) then you aren't doing too badly.
I still have my first ever card (10/05/1986) that was 122 round what I would now call an easy track. Took me over a year to break that 100 mark so you are doing ok.
Just kep it going.

Thanks for the input. Short game is something i'll work on a lot once ive joined the club and have the facilities to practice more.
